Trash & Recycling The City of Alexandria collects PG’s trash and recycling weekly on Thursdays. Trash and recycling bins should be placed outside of your garage no earlier than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and brought back inside on Thursday night. In the event that Monday is a federal holiday, or in the event of inclement weather and city government closure, trash and recycling will be picked up on Friday.
